A king and his four wives
Once lived a
powerful King in a very rich country with four wives. He was very appreciative
of his fourth wife and adorned the woman with a beautiful robe and served her
with delicacies. He offers as much as possible to her. He also loves his third
wife very much and always shows it to the neighboring kingdom. Still, he fears
that one day she will leave him for another. He also loves his second wife. she
was a man of faith and always kind, considerate and patient with her. Whenever
the King was in trouble, he could trust her, and she would help him through
difficult times.
The King's
first wife was a very loyal couple and had made great contributions in keeping
her wealth and kingdom. However, he did not love his first wife. Although he
loved her very much, he barely noticed her. One day, the King fell ill and he
knew the time was short. He thought about his luxurious life and wondered, "Now
I have four wives with me, but when I die, I will be alone."
So he asked
his fourth wife, "I love you the most, give you the best clothes and pay
the most attention to you. Now I am going to die, will you follow me and
accompany me?" Impossible! ", Replied the fourth wife, and she walked
without another word. The answer was cut like a sharp knife right into her
heart. The sad king then asked the third wife," I have loved you all my
life. Now I am going to die, will you follow me and accompany me? ""
No! ", Answer the third wife." Life is too good! When you die, I will
marry again! "Her heart sank and she became cold.
He then asked
his second wife, “I always ask for your help and you are always there for me.
When I die, will you follow me and accompany me? "" Sorry, I cannot
help you this time! ", Replied the second wife. "At most, I can only
send you to your grave." The answer came like lightning, and the King was
destroyed. Then the voice exclaimed: "I will go with you and follow you
wherever you go." The king looked up, and there was his first wife. She is
very thin because she suffers from malnutrition.
Very sad, the
King said, "I should have taken better care of you when I had the
chance!"
We all have
four wives in our daily lives. The fourth wife is our body. We love our bodies
with our first love, and we devote our whole lives to adorning them with
beautiful jewelry and clothing, but will eventually leave us when we die. Our
third wife is our property, position, and wealth. We spend a lot of time and
attention accumulating possessions, but all the things we have acquired will
not be with us when we die. Alternatively, when the third wife claims she will
remarry after the King dies, all our property is divided and offered to others.
Our second wife is our friends, family, and relatives. We love them and trust
them, and in return, they also give us comfort and help when we need it. But no
matter how long they have been with us, the farthest they will stay with us is
until the funeral. And our first wife is our spirit. We ignore our souls in
search of riches, enjoyment, and strength. Never knowing that it’s only our
spirit that goes with us as we die. Sure, we do ought to take care of our
bodies; stay well, and exercise. We ought to have a nice time or things for our
associates and family. Yet we should not forget to take care of our biggest
treasure; our spirit. Spend time alone
meditating, praying, and uniting your soul with the Creator. Look to be
respectful and polite. Dedicate your life to a higher purpose; to be the
servant of another life. Nourish your spirit because it is our only loyal
friend.
