Some people think depression is trivial and not a genuine health condition. They're wrong – it is a real illness with real symptoms. Depression isn't a sign of weakness or something you can "snap out of" by "pulling yourself together". Its important for us to know the symptoms so we can help them go through the challenges.
Helping someone with depression can be a challenge. If someone in your life has depression, you may feel helpless and wonder what to do. I witnessed one of a close friend with depression, walk into her room, and acted like there is nothing going on but later on, cried out of sudden. They really need help.
"Im useless" "why am i alive?" "I didn't ask for this" "I hate everyone!" "I hate myself" "If I could be better" "No one will understand"
These are few example of obvious symptoms could be detected on the patients. If you are one of the patients, I would like to recommend you a few things you can do in order to control your depression.
1.Have some FUN! Dont stress over yourself too much, it would kill you. Doesn't matter if the 'fun' you having is eating pizza, sleepover with your friends, eat a scoop of an ice cream or read a book as long as you get to enjoy yourself. Sometimes, it's the little things that mean the most.
2.Do your own blog or express you feelings in a diary. The best feeling is you could let out everything on your mind whether by drawing or writing or talk to a person but not everyone has a gut to let other people know about how they feel, so blogging or a diary is the best way.
3.Screaming is the best thing ever I could do in my life! Ride a roller coaster or a parasailing or something extreme that will help you scream through your heart!
4. Watch movies. Once you step into a cinema, you will forget everything that bothers you. This is also one of the places you could enjoy yourself being alone.
5.Do what you like. You dont always have to follow the rules in your life. Screw it! Sometimes you need to ignore them. LIVE WITHOUT RULES, BE FLEXIBLE. Do some mistakes, have some failures, and learn from them. It happens all the time. Say 'NO'' to certain things, live life on your own terms and become a successful risk taker!
*You don't always need medical drugs to help you recover from this illness. Sometimes you need to enjoy yourself, spend your time over crazy little things and have a talk with someone you trust.
